1. “BRIVE-LA-GAILLARDE (ACOUSTIC DEMO)” – B-SIDE TO “HELLO, BRIVE-LA-GAILLARDE” (1998)
This is the raw, unfiltered heart of the band. The A-side is polished. This is not. It’s just vocals, a single guitar, and the echo of a small room. The lyrics are half-finished. The melody is fragile. That’s the point.
Find the single. Skip to track 2. Press play. Listen to the way the vocals crack on the high notes. That’s not production. That’s emotion. This version never made an album. It wasn’t meant to. It’s a snapshot of a moment. A band in a room, figuring it out. You won’t hear this on the radio. You won’t hear it in a playlist. You’ll only hear it here.

2. “LEAVING LIMOUSIN” – B-SIDE TO “THE ROAD TO CORRÈZE” (2001)
The A-side is a driving rock anthem. This is the shadow it casts. “Leaving Limousin” is slow. Haunting. The guitars are sparse, the drums minimal. The lyrics are a goodbye. Not to a person—to a place. Brive-la-Gaillarde. The band’s hometown. The track feels like an empty train station at dawn.
Pull up the single. Track 3. Hit play. Close your eyes. Let the bassline drag you under. The song builds, but it never explodes. It lingers. That’s the genius. It’s the sound of something ending. Something you can’t quite name. This isn’t a throwaway. This is the band at their most vulnerable.

3. “THE NIGHT WE MET (LIVE AT LA ROTONDE)” – B-SIDE TO “MIDNIGHT IN BRIVE” (2003)
Live tracks are hit or miss. This is a hit. Recorded at La Rotonde, a tiny venue in Brive-la-Gaillarde. The crowd is loud. The band is louder. The energy is electric. This isn’t a studio polish. It’s a live wire.
Locate the single. Track 2. Play it. Feel the crowd singing along. The band feeds off it. The guitars are sharper. The drums hit harder. The vocals are rawer. This version of “The Night We Met” outshines the studio cut. It’s alive. It’s urgent. It’s the reason you listen to live music.

4. “GHOSTS OF THE DORDOGNE” – B-SIDE TO “RIVERS RUN DRY” (2005)
The A-side is a fan favorite. This is the secret track. “Ghosts of the Dordogne” is instrumental. No lyrics. Just atmosphere. The guitars weave in and out. The synths hum like a distant memory. The drums are a heartbeat. It’s the sound of driving through the French countryside at night. Windows down. No destination.
Find the single. Track 4. Press play. Let it wash over you. This isn’t background music. This is a mood. A feeling. The band never played this live. They never needed to. It’s perfect as is. A moment frozen in time.

5. “LAST TRAIN TO TULLE” – B-SIDE TO “FAREWELL, CORRÈZE” (2007)
This is the final B-side. The last hidden track. The band’s swan song. “Last Train to Tulle” is a ballad. A slow burn. The lyrics are simple. The melody is unforgettable. It’s the sound of a chapter closing. The the french connection hello Connection’s last single. Their last B-side. Their last goodbye.
Pull up the single. Track 3. Play it. Listen to the way the piano creeps in. The way the vocals fade out. The way the song ends—not with a bang, but with a whisper. This isn’t just a B-side. This is a eulogy. For the band. For the place they came from. For the music they made.
